God's joy is not contagious. Others will not "catch" it or experience it just because they come in contact with someone filled with joy. As a matter of fact they may be envious, jealous or confused, especially if they do not know the reason for the joy. If you know the joy of the Lord, you will want others to know this joy also. Here are some suggestions for you to help spread this joy to others.
Share your faith. Tell others about what you know about Jesus and how your relationship to Him has brought you joy. Some refer to this as witnessing or evangelizing, telling the Good News. Help others in discovering the joy of the Lord.
First Baptist Church often has classes to help believers learn how to more effectively communicate their faith.
FBC also has activities, such as Tuesday evening's GROW, which provide opportunities for believers to come in contact with others who are in need of joy.
Serve others. Very few instances in the Bible tell of any serving Jesus, but the New Testament says Jesus spent His life in serving others. That's why He came to this world. People rejoiced because they had been around Him. Live your life so that others are better off because of you.
FBC has many ministries to serve others. Most of this ministries are open for anyone's participation. Contact one of FBC's ministers, deacons or ministry leaders to get involved.
The community where you live probably has many outlets for your involvement and serving others. Contact a local hospital, Chamber of Commerce, school or charitable organization. Some communities have an office of volunteerism.
You have talents and abilities and have had experiences that make you fully able to make someone else's life better. Get creative in trying to bring joy to someone else.
