If you would like to become a Christian by receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior and discover the joy of the Lord, you pray something similar to this:

Heavenly Father, I agree with your Word that I am a sinner and have sinned. I accept your forgiveness obtained by your Son, Jesus' death on the cross. Lord Jesus, I believe that you  rose from the grave and live forever. I commit my life to you and to doing your will. I open my heart to your Holy Spirit. Thank you for your promise of eternal life and for the gift of life itself.

The words of your prayer are not as important as your intent.
When you intentionally ACKNOWLEDGE your sin and need of the Savior,
    intentionally choose to BELIEVE in Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection for you,
         and fully COMMIT your life to Jesus as your Savior and Lord,
you will be saved from your sin and eternal separation from the Father,
    you will receive eternal life and have a relationship with the Father as His child
         and spend eternity with Jesus in a place He has prepared for you.

God's promise in Christ to you is:
         "Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:13
